Unless you value walgreens gift cards same as cash, this is more like “get $40 of gift cards for $30” (i.e. 25% discount).
California residents can get cash for <$10 gift cards (by law), but most require the gift cards to be under $10 now, and people usually hate you for even asking. Similar in NJ ($5), etc.

I’m fairly new to Walgreens GC offers, so have a basic question – how should the cashier process the promo? Do they just scan the two promo GCs and then a $10 denomination Walgreens GC and it’ll automatically deduct? Or do they need to put in a code? Ive visited a few Walgreens in NYC and the staff seem to have no idea what to do.
Basically, what you said. The cashier should see on their screen the directions and the applicable promo once they scan the relevant 3rd party gift cards. A lot of the times the cashiers just refuse to read the most basic of things on their own register, and deny the promotion and/or refuse to honor it.
Yep, have them scan the first two third party gift cards first, then have them scan a Walgreens gift card and it should automatically deduct the cost of that. I think I’ve seen reports of certain designs of Walgreens gift card not working, so if the first one you try doesn’t work, try a different design.
