Martin’s usually has the same gift card deals as Giant and Stop & Shop, but this isn’t listed in their ad this week, so I’m not sure if it’s available there or not. Update: Escot pointed out in the comments below that this deal is available at Martin’s too. It seems like the 3x offer wasn’t in a Maryland ad which is why I thought they weren’t offering it, but it is being offered in a Pennsylvania ad.
If you buy a $500 Visa gift card with this deal, you’ll earn 1,500 Gas Rewards points. Those can be redeemed to save $1.50 per gallon on gas up to 20 gallons. That means each $500 card can save you up to $30 on gas which easily offsets the VGC activation fee. Update: As per Escot’s comment below, the Martin’s Gas Extra Rewards program works a little differently to Giant’s.
Thanks for the heads up about this. I’m wondering if it maybe depends on the area too. I’d had it set to a store in Maryland and there was an ad for VGCs, but no mention of 3x Gas points. Changing the store to one in Pennsylvania showed the 3x offer. I’m therefore not sure if the Maryland ad is just an error and that it’s supposed to show 3x or if it’s not available there for some reason.
I’ll update the post though and it’s good to know about how the Martin’s fuel program works – I’d assumed it would be the same as Giant’s.
