Tips & Ideas
These types of promo codes from Giftcards.com are always great because it makes the purchase profitable even before taking into account any other factors. The cards come with a $5.95 purchase fee, so if you buy the maximum denomination – $250 – your net cost will be $243.45 after using the promo code which is a profit of $6.55 per card.
It gets even better though. Paying with a credit card means you can earn rewards on that card. You can also earns rewards through a shopping portal – here are the current rates. You best option right now might be to use an airline shopping portal seeing as they’re all currently offering bonus points/miles when shopping through them and hitting spending thresholds which you can easily hit with this Veterans Day Mastercard gift card promotion from Giftcards.com. Find more details about those shopping portal offers below:
Also be aware that the Capital One Shopping app is offering 8x at Giftcards.com. You don’t have to be a Capital One cardholder to use that app.
These deals are usually only valid on the digital version of cards, but this time around it’s valid on both digital and physical Mastercard gift cards.
Giftcards.com usually adds even more eligible promo codes as the promotion period goes on, so I’ll update this post if I notice any more codes that work.
CapOne 8% CB in app seems YMMV
I’ve had better luck with the 4% via web site.
I only used their app once for the last giftcards.com deal and they paid me more. So, no complaints from me. But seeing as that was unreliable (in my favor), i can understand where you are coming from.
How long does it take before a code like this will show up on the airline shopping portals? Or do we not need to worry about their statement that use of codes not on the shopping portal site will void points earning?
It’s hard to know. Sometimes in the past it was fine using these codes & having it track on portals even when they weren’t listed, but I think with the last promo it didn’t always work depending on which code you used.
As for how long it’ll take for it to show on portals, there’s sadly no way of knowing. I think last time it might’ve taken a day or two.
