The normal deal that Meijer runs gives $5 rewards for every $50 of spend. This latest one states that it’ll give $10 rewards. I don’t know if that’s a typo or if that’s how the promotion has actually been set up; if they are indeed giving $10 rewards that’s an incredible deal seeing as it means you’re effectively saving 20% on most gift card brands. Thanks to Thia for the heads up about this difference.
As always with this type of mPerks rewards deal, Amazon gift cards and several other brands are excluded, but several other high value brands are eligible including Best Buy, eBay, Home Depot, etc.
A few things that are worth knowing for this offer in case you’re not familiar with it:
- Rewards – It’s a reward offer rather than a digital coupon, so you don’t have to load it to your account – it’s already there.
- Denominations – You can buy one $500 gift card to max out this offer – you don’t have to buy ten separate $50 gift cards.
- Load Time – The $10 rewards are usually loaded to your account within a couple of hours.
- Use Full Value – If you don’t use the full value of a $10 reward, the remaining amount is forfeited. If you max out this offer but only spend $91 on groceries, it’s best to only redeem $90 worth of rewards and save the remaining $10 for another time, otherwise you’d forfeit the $9 left over.

You need to pay attention when you try to redeem the rewards, however. When I checked out today, I had a $10 reward that I should have been able to use. The self checkout had some sort of “out of sync” error that the attendant had to fix. Somehow my mperks got unconnected from the transaction so the checkout didn’t offer to use the $10 reward that I had, and the transaction didn’t show up in my Mperks account so I didn’t get any Rewards from today’s purchase. I just added the receipt manually through the app so we’ll see if the rewards show up within 24 hrs like the app says.
On one of my accounts, I earned and used ten of the $10 rewards.
I went to the store again today and they had a printed sign stating that it’s a $10 reward; mPerks is correct.
