Google Pay has finally made a much-needed update to its app and now lets you search for card-linked offers.
In the past, it was a pain trying to look through the card-linked deals to see if there was a deal for a particular retailer or to find an offer that you already knew was there. Google Pay only displays a handful of retailers/restaurants at a time, so in the past you had to tap ‘View more’ and scroll through the next handful of retailers, then click ‘View more’ and so on and so on and so on.
Considering Google is a search engine, it was always weird that they didn’t provide Google Pay users with a way to search their offers. Thankfully that’s now changed. When going to the ‘Explore’ tab (the one in the bottom-left corner of the app), you’ll now see a search bar at the top of the screen saying ‘Search deals’. When tapping on that you’ll see a list of some of the available offers, but you can then search for specific retailers/restaurants. Even better, as you start typing in the first few letters, it’ll start filtering for available offers.
This is a small improvement, but one that goes a long way to making Google Pay more useable. Now we just need them to return with some good offers as those have been few and far between over the last year.
