In what appears to be a new development, Wayfair now sells a variety of third party gift cards online. They don’t have a huge selection of brands – at the time of publishing this there are only 29 brands – but many of those are higher value like Airbnb, Delta, Southwest, Disney and more.
This could be of interest because it looks like Wayfair processes payment for these third party gift cards themselves. That means that if you have Wayfair Amex Offers or Chase Offers on any of your cards, the statement credits from those should be triggered by buying these gift cards.
One thing that likely won’t be a play here is using Happy/Giving Good/Choice gift cards where Wayfair is listed as an eligible retailer. That’s because the only Happy/Giving Good/Choice brands with Wayfair on them have to be converted online to Wayfair gift cards rather than being used as restricted Visa gift cards like some physical Happy gift cards. As a result, the only way Happy & Happy-esque gift cards could be used to buy these third party gift cards on Wayfair’s website is if you can buy them with Wayfair gift cards themselves. I imagine that’s unlikely, but it could be worth trying if you happen to have any Wayfair gift cards in case they haven’t hardcoded to disallow that opportunity. Update: It’s been confirmed that Wayfair gift cards can’t be used to purchase these third party gift cards.
