(EXPIRED) Venmo: Spend $20 At CVS & Get $10 Back When Paying With QR Code

Update 7/10/22: This offer has been showing up in the Venmo app for the past year, but had disappeared from PayPal for a while – at least on my account anyway. It’s now showing back up on PayPal too.

Update 7/22/21: A link to an identical offer with PayPal has been included below. Venmo is now owned by PayPal, but I’m not sure if that means you can only take advantage of this offer with one or the other or if you can do it twice.

The Deal

• Spend $20+ at CVS & get $10 back when paying with a QR code using Venmo.
• Venmo – My referral link – we’ll both receive $5 if you make a $5+ payment within 14 days of signing up.

• Not valid at CVS locations inside Target stores.
• Excludes any purchases of lottery, prepaid gift cards, licenses, money orders, money transfers, and CarePass enrollments.

Tips & Ideas

This seems to be a fairly easy way to earn $10. There’s no gift card exclusion, so I imagine buying a $20+ gift card will get you the $10 back. Update: Thia shared some additional terms in the comments which does include a gift card exclusions. I’m not sure if that’ll actually be enforced though.

I’ve no idea if Venmo passes along the merchant coding, so I don’t know if paying with a card that earns more at drugstores (e.g. Chase Freedom Unlimited) will get that bonused spend.
