Update 2/22/22: This offer has been extended to March 20, 2022. The terms state that you can earn the maximum of 5,000 points ($50) per month during this offer period. That means you should be able to spend $1,000 in February and $1,000 again in March.

The Deal

  • Earn 5% cashback at Best Buy when paying with the Point debit card.
  • My wife’s referral link (we’ll both get 10,000 bonus points ($100) when you spend $1,000 within 30 days of signing up).

  • Offer valid in-store and on orders placed online at BestBuy.com and through the Best Buy iOS or Android mobile applications.
  • Maximum 5,000 points on eligible purchases per month during this offer period.
  • Points will be credited to your account within 30 days after charges appear on your Point billing statement.
  • Excludes physical and electronic gift cards.

Tips & Ideas

This is a 5x offer, but those points can be exchanged for cash on a 1:1 basis, so 5x is basically 5% cashback. With a limit of 5,000 points, you’ll max this out when spending $1,000. You can buy gift cards in-store or online to max this out, with the only exception being Best Buy eGift cards as payment for those is processed by CashStar. Note that the terms exclude gift card purchases, but I’m not aware of the bonus cashback not being awarded.

Hi Stephen,

  1. Point is now a Visa card (all legacy MC holders are being switched to Visa cards).
  2. text support claims that these offers are per calander month per offer. That means an offer beginning Dec 9 and ending Jan 9 can be fully redeemed once in Dec, and again in January.
  3. Do you have confirmation that the offers are “extended”, as opposed to “new”? The difference might affect whether we start with a new limit bucket.

2) Yep
3) The terms state “Maximum 5,000 points on eligible purchases per month during this offer period.” This is a new offer period, so I think effectively the limits have reset.
