Overstock gift cards used to go on sale every so often a few years back, but deals on their gift cards seem to be few and far between nowadays. As a result, this 9.1% discount on $110 worth of gift cards is a good deal for personal use, but still not very useful for reselling.
There are several things to note with this promotion. First, it’s only open to BitmoPerks members; that’s free to join, but you’ll need to take the necessary steps to do that.
Second, some Bitmo promotions allow you to swap the gift card brand that you’ve bought for one which has higher value; that’s sadly not the case with this latest batch of promos.
Third, when entering the promo code, it’ll show up as -$0 value rather than $10 or $110. Don’t worry about that – so long as it shows the OSBONUS promo code being applied, you’re good to go. Having said that, it doesn’t hurt to take a screenshot as evidence.
Fourth, you can pay with PayPal, so the Chase Freedom card is a good option seeing as that’s earning 5% this quarter.
Fifth, you might not get the gift cards straight away. Bitmo used to show them as pending when paying via your checking account was the only payment option, but for some reason when buying a Home Depot gift card from a similar deal they were stuck in pending status for several hours. It said ‘Your gift may take 2-3 days to clear’ which was weird seeing as the payment had already cleared, but they came out of pending status on the same day. For what it’s worth, that Home Depot deal was the only time they went pending out of all these recent Bitmo deals, so that was hopefully a one-off.
Finally, the $10 bonus gift card should show up (albeit possible in a pending status) about one minute after completing the transaction, so don’t worry if it doesn’t immediately show in your wallet.
