Following terms are from the Alaska Airlines shopping portal – terms for the American Airlines and Delta offers are similar:
- During the “Holiday Bonus” offer, which runs from 11/6/20 through 11/22/20 at 11:59:59 pm ET (the “Bonus Period”), Member will receive a one-time bonus of up to 1,500 Mileage Plan bonus miles on qualifying purchases made through the Mileage Plan Shopping mall or from purchases made through Mileage Plan Shopping in-store offers.
- This one-time bonus award will be determined using one of the following tiers, based on Member’s cumulative qualifying purchases made during the Bonus Period: Tier 1 bonus: 300 miles for qualifying purchases of at least $100; Tier 2 bonus: 750 miles for qualifying purchases of at least $300; or Tier 3 bonus: 1,500 miles for qualifying purchases of $500 or more.
- “Qualifying purchases” do not include returns, cancellations, shipping and handling, taxes, gift card or other cash equivalent purchases, and certain products that are not eligible for bonus miles. Please see the Mileage Plan Shopping site for details on product eligibility and other restrictions.
- Please allow up to 10 weeks after the Bonus Period for bonus miles to post to your Mileage Plan Shopping account.
- The Tier 3 bonus provides the maximum number of miles that will be awarded.
- Void where prohibited by law.
Tips & Ideas
The United and Southwest shopping portals launched bonuses a few days ago and in that post I mentioned that we’d likely see similar bonuses on the other airline shopping portals within a week or so and here they are.
The best offer here will depend on your valuation of the different airline miles and how much you’ll be spending online (or in-store with Alaska seeing as their portal has in-store offers).
The American Airlines offer gives 5x, 4x or 4x depending on the spending threshold, Alaska offers 3x, 2.5x or 3x, while Delta offers 3.33x bonus miles for both of their tiers.
As always, gift card purchases are excluded, but purchases from Raise and GiftCards.com have tracked in the past and so should work again. Neither of those are retailers available through the Delta portal though.
