Update 12/17/20: Google Pay is offering 2.5% cashback at Macy’s. There’s an online version of the deal, but I’m not seeing an in-store version. If you’re using this Macy’s Amex Offer online, add that Amex card to Google Pay, activate the Macy’s offer in GPay and ensure your Amex card is enrolled in that particular offer. You can also get $21 if you’ve not used the new version of Google Pay before – here’s more about that.
If you’ll be doing this offer in-store, Rakuten is currently offering 6%/6x in-store cashback. Gift card purchases are excluded, but they might track.

Tips & Ideas
Macy’s sells both physical and digital gift cards online and seems to process payment themselves. You should therefore be able to buy a $60 Macy’s gift card online (or in-store) to lock in the 16.67% discount.
