This appears to be a highly targeted offer as my wife and I only had it on our Marriott business cards.
In theory you can buy a $50 Wine.com gift card to trigger the $10 statement credit, but be careful if doing this. The last time there was a Wine.com Amex Offer, they processed gift card orders, sent out the gift cards and then arbitrarily canceled some of the gift cards without letting you know that they’d done this. They did at least automatically refund credit cards where they did this, but it could prove problematic if you don’t notice the refund because it’s not possible to check the balance on a Wine.com gift card without applying it to an account. There’s therefore no way of checking if Wine.com has drained the gift card of any value if you’re looking to resell it.
As a result, I’d urge caution if buying a $50 gift card and keep an eye on your credit card statements for reversals of the purchase.
