Tips & Ideas

The gift cards that come with the membership cancel out the cost of the Groupon, making this a break even deal. If you can make use of the dips, it makes more sense to go for that option seeing as they’re effectively free.

Note that the $25 eGift card requires that you place an order on SamsClub.com within your first 30 days of membership. It’s presumably possible to trigger that part of the promotion when buying an eGift card of some variety, so that’s probably the easiest method. The amount you have to pay will be $25, whereas a lot of eGift cards that Sams Club sells have a $25 value, but cost less than that (e.g. $22.47 or something like that). You’ll therefore need to ensure you actually spend $25.

The second way to save comes when you come to pay. Chase is offering 10% cashback on Groupon purchases when enrolling in this promotion. Alternatively, pay with a Groupon gift card bought at a discount, either via somewhere like Raise or by buying gift cards when using Amex Offers or Chase Offers, such as the Staples and Lowe’s offers.
