Tips & Ideas
I’d always ignored the 7Rewards program on the gift card front because they don’t normally offer points when buying gift cards like Speedway does. However, they do apparently run some gift card deals where you earn bonus points such as the deals listed above.
The downside is that the points aren’t particularly useful. With Speedway you can redeem their points for other gift cards, but 7Rewards only allows you to redeem points for certain merchandise at 7-Eleven. Redemptions start at 500 points, while 1,000 points can get you a free item like a donut, pizza slice, breakfast sandwich, Big Gulp drink and more. It’s therefore only worth buying gift cards at 7-Eleven to earn 7Rewards points if the points can be redeemed for items you’d have been buying anyway. These deals can be made a little better though by paying with a card that earns more at gas stations, such as the Chase Freedom, Freedom Flex and Discover It cards this quarter.
