As you can see in the above image, the terms of this offer are conflicting. It says $5 off, but then says there’s no purchase fee. The purchase fee is $6.95 on a $200 card, so I’ve a feeling that’s an error and that it is indeed only $5 off.
Pay with a card with the 10% Staples Amex Offer loaded to save up to $50. Alternatively, earn 1,010 Ultimate Rewards or $10.10 cashback paying with a Chase Ink Plus or Ink Cash card respectively.
Although there’s a limit of 1, you can buy more by going to different stores or having a cashier who doesn’t know/care about the limit.
Funny thing, the Staples stores in west Richmond VA were errantly (but oh so sure of themselves) applying the one card only limit to the 20% off merchant gift cards today…. I cut loose with some (polite) feedback (as I’d just bought quite a few in another part of the state) — and then another manager got called out of hiding…. (and lo and behold, once the red faced senior manager looked the other way, the computer knew no limits on them…..)
The “new” Staples is in utter chaos. (They’re in the process of destroying the ink program too)
