This will be a profitable deal seeing as the activation fee will be less than $100. I think it’s possibly to buy a variable load Visa gift card and have that trigger the $10 instant discount, but please let me know in the comments below if it’s only valid on fixed-value cards.
Update 9/15/19: As per Adam’s comment below, some locations are offering 8x Reward Points rather than a $10 instant discount. That’s potentially an even better deal as 8x on a $100 Visa gift card is good for 80c off per gallon of gas, up to 25 gallons. That means you can save up to $20 on gas rather than only $10 instantly.
Seems like the WA stores near where i live are all offering 8× fuel rewards instead of $10 off
